Michael Kennedy McIntyre & Associates - Postconviction Attorney

Michael Kennedy McIntyre is an Atlanta, Georgia-based attorney whose practice focuses on postconviction representation. He founded McIntyre & Associates in 1985 to represent clients seeking relief from state and federal criminal convictions and their continuing consequences. Through McIntyre & Associates, Michael Kennedy McIntyre handles matters involving parole, release from confinement, sex offender registration requirements, and other postconviction remedies.

Mr. McIntyre studied history at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1980. He has served as lead counsel in two death penalty cases decided on the merits by the United States Supreme Court, Dobbs v. Zant and Nelson v. Campbell, both of which resulted in unanimous decisions in favor of his clients. He also represents clients before the Georgia Parole Board, advises clients and families on parole and alternative remedies, and handles matters involving Georgia sex offender laws and petitions for removal from the state sex offender registry.
